Promoting Peace
Rotary members refuse to accept conflict as a way of life. As a humanitarian organization, peace is a cornerstone of Rotary’s mission. Rotary actively engages in service projects in India and supports peace fellowships and scholarships. Through these efforts, they tackle the root causes of conflict, such as poverty, discrimination, ethnic tensions, limited educational access, and unequal resource distribution.
Rotary members primarily take four roles: practitioners, who build optimal conditions for peaceful societies; educators, who have trained peace fellows to become efficient peace catalysts; mediators, who negotiate humanitarian ceasefires in conflict areas; and advocates, who contribute to nonpartisan peace processes and post-conflict reconstruction.
Rotary supports training, education, and practices related to peacebuilding and conflict prevention through initiatives that help transform conflict in our communities and worldwide.
