About the Project: The Medical Equipment for Gomabai Netralaya Hospital project was initiated to enhance diagnostic capabilities and improve patient care at the hospital, which specializes in Total Eye Care, including Cataract, Glaucoma, Retina, Cornea, Pediatric Ophthalmology, LASIK Laser, and Eye Banking. A significant portion of these services is provided free of cost to the public, making access to advanced diagnostic tools even more critical.

The project focused on the acquisition of a Fundus Camera, a vital piece of medical equipment used for retinal imaging and ocular disease monitoring. The Fundus Camera plays a crucial role in early detection, diagnosis, and management of various eye conditions, including Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, Optic Atrophy, Papilledema, Retinoblastoma, and Color Vision Deficiencies.

By incorporating the Topcon Retinal Camera, the hospital has significantly enhanced its ability to detect and monitor eye diseases, ensuring timely interventions and better treatment outcomes. This addition has benefited thousands of patients, particularly those from underserved communities, by providing more precise diagnoses and advanced eye care services.

Beyond improving diagnostic accuracy, this project has strengthened Gomabai Netralaya Hospital’s mission of accessible and high-quality eye care, reinforcing its commitment to preventing avoidable blindness. By integrating cutting-edge technology into routine eye care services, the hospital continues to impact vision health and overall well-being in the region.
